Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

Plain-language summary: PastRush is an educational app with a large free tier and an optional one-time Founder Lifetime purchase. It stores your progress only on your device, writes every fact in its own words and links it to its source, and uses only original art and music. Survival content is general information, not a substitute for training or emergency services.

Summary

PastRush has no accounts, no ads, no analytics trackers and no server-side database of your learning. Your progress stays on your device.

Purchases

If you buy Founder Lifetime, a random anonymous ID is created on your device and shared with RevenueCat, our purchase provider, so it can confirm your purchase. Payment details are handled by the payment processor (or Apple on iOS); we never see your card number. Purchase records are kept as required for tax and accounting.

What is stored

On iPhone and iPad: solved cases, stars, saved exhibits, Notebook notes, settings and progress are saved in the app on your device only. We do not receive or see this data. Deleting the app erases it, and notes can be deleted one by one or all at once in the Notebook.

On the web atlas: your explorer name, crest, interests, XP, discoveries, learned skills, game scores, wishlist and settings are saved in your browser's local storage on your device only. You can erase it any time with Reset progress in the Explorer drawer, or by clearing your browser's site data.

What we do not do

We do not sell or share personal information. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Third parties

Fonts are bundled inside the app, so no font service sees your visit. Images and music load from our own content host; like any web request, it may receive your IP address and browser details. Source links open external sites with their own policies.

The globe: on iPhone and iPad the 3D globe is drawn by Apple Maps (MapKit); on the web it uses public satellite and map tile servers. When you zoom in, the app asks Wikipedia for nearby places with an article and shows their short summaries. These requests contain only the map area you are looking at, never your name, account or device location. We never ask for or use your GPS location.

Your rights

Because we don't hold your personal data, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you contact us by email, we use your message only to reply and delete it when no longer needed. Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA) and other regions may contact us with any privacy question.

If our practices change (for example, if we add optional accounts), we will update this policy before the change takes effect. Contact: simpletonfacts@gmail.com.
